After many months of uncertainty, the casino resorts legislation in Florida is still under discussion. Subsequently, Resorts World Miami, the Downtown Miami giant complex supposedly containing the world’s largest casino still has an unsettled future.
The 3 billion-plus project planned to be developed over the next 3 to 5 years might have to review its plans. If the casino bill fails, Genting group will have to redesign the project. The downsized 300,000sqft of the resort that was initially devoted to the gambling area would possibly be reconverted into housing facilities. Another option for the Malaysian group would be to resale the land. According to Genting representatives, this option is not a taken into account.
Even if the casino area is rejected, Resorts World Miami is still aiming at becoming a first class resort which will attract tourists from all over the world.
