The expected $1.05 billion Brickell CitiCentre project might break ground in June 2012. This huge mixed-use project is going to literally change the Brickell neighborhood. By accommodating the 9.1 acres of South Miami Avenue between 6th and 8th streets, the Swire Properties’ project is planned to be the hugest project in Miami in a long time.

The first step of the project will begin in June with the construction of 5 buildings that will accommodate retail shops, condominium units, a hotel, offices and parking spaces. A second tower is planned to be built later and will add some offices spaces to the project.  Moreover, Swire properties announced that some medical offices and a wellness center would be part of the project but it hasn’t been confirmed yet. The project will be creating 1,700 construction-related jobs and 3,500 permanent jobs.
